About Lisa Anderson-Ramsey
Art has always been a way to express myself and to connect to the world without words, Inspiration for my art comes through experience. Growing up in Michigan, spending time in nature, riding horses, and dance have all contributed inspiration for my life's work. In my pieces you will find a variety of subject. That's because I let the subject do the talking. In other words, I look for photos and images that I connect with and what comes out onto paper is an expression of that connection.
My current medium is oil pastels. I love how this medium allows me to combine drawing and painting. The bright vibrant colors are an extension of the light, energy, and life. The textures are earthy and lend depth.
I graduated Calvin College with BFA in Studio Arts and a Minor in Art history. I have worked in advertising as a commercial artists for over 30 years.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.

Inspiration
I find inspiration in the things all around me, past and present. Movement in dance and dressage riding, music, and the animals and nature that fill my life are all elements of my art. When a photo or moment sparks a connection I often find has to do with how light and shadow play and lend depth and bring out emotions within us.
Techniques
My current works are primarily oil pastel on paper. I work from photos that inspire me and interpret them into the bright colors and textures you see to create one of a kind pieces that fall somewhere between drawing and painting.
career highlights
I've had many professional highlights throughout my career in advertising and marketing. One was an addy award for a logo design. I was pleasantly surprised to find out my client had submitted it!
But most satisfying is having reached a point in my career where I can create with total freedom.
